About Us

It is the mission of DPG Defenders to professionally facilitate high standards in services in order for 100% customer satisfaction. DPG Defenders is a fully equipped Workshop specialising in Land Rover Defenders.

Founded by Dunstan Paul Greenbank, a fully qualified mechanic with 35 years mechanical experience, was brought up in Pickering and Slingsby of North Yorkshire where he has lived all his life apart from a short 24-year stint in the British Army.

Based in Keldholme on the outskirts of Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire, we service the local area as well as catering for restoration and rebuild jobs nationwide. We are gradually expanding as the business grows, branching out into parts supply and working alongside other business to provide services to the 4×4 market.

Dunstan served/trained as a vehicle mechanic within the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) where a day didn’t pass without him either turning spanners or carrying out inspections of 4×4 vehicles.

From starting off as an apprentice, progressing through junior management to senior management, Dunstan was heavily involved with the maintenance and inspection of a vast range of 4×4 vehicles from Land Rovers and Pinzgauers to 27 Ton recovery vehicles. He has carried out repairs all over the world, having served in Bosnia, Croatia, Falkland Islands, Kosovo, Macedonia, Canada, Germany and Afghanistan.

Due to Dunstan’s military background including workshop management of up to 32 mechanics and the responsibility of up to 1000 equipments including Land Rovers, it is the aim that DPG Defenders is run in a similar way, providing accurate lead times, spares sourcing and an effective service across the board….. a straight line service with accurate information.

Retiring from the Army in 2010, Dunstan worked for a 4×4 expedition preparation company. Here he achieved magazine featured Land Rover Series restorations on 2 occasions, and gained extensive experience within the civilian 4×4 sector, including expedition preparation, roll cage fitting and auxiliary fuel/water tank fitting.

DPG Defenders can carry out anything from a basic service to a full-blown nut and bolt restoration of your Defender. We use an independent MOT station. We have access to parts trade prices so can offer competitive prices within the rural area.

We are approved Allmakes and Britpart Land Rover parts suppliers and use their products for most of the repairs we carry out within the workshop. Utilising the Nanocom, we can identify faults on your vehicle whether they are engine management, ABS, SRS or transmission related.
