Unit 4/5 Malton Road, Keldholme Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire
Land Rovers are well known for there rust so rust prevention treatment is essential if you want to protect your vehicle. The ideal time to protect your vehicle is when it is new but this is not essential.
Here at DPG Defenders, we only use Dinitrol products.
So why do Land Rovers Rust?
The Chassis, Bulkhead, Axles, Fasteners and the majority of body to chassis brackets are made from steel, which contains a portion of Iron. Iron reacts with Water and Oxygen to form a hydrated oxide (typically Fe2O3) we know as rust
Land Rovers are often used in high salt content and high moisture environments (winter roads, off road, fording) which brings the chassis and other steel components into contact with water that has an increased salt volume. Salt acts a catalyst for the rust formation process.
Factory applied corrosion protection isn’t the best.
The ladder chassis design can hinder water dispersal and trap mud and moisture internally, if not regularly cleaned
